Let's Talk, Yinz: Free Wedding Florist Consultation with Bramble & Blossom Pittsburgh

Planning your wedding can feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to finding the perfect team to bring all the visuals to life. But fear not, lovebirds! Your free consultation with Bramble & Blossom is here to guide you through the process, ensuring your big day blooms with ethics, sustainability, and serious style.

We’ve been crafting eco-friendly, jaw-dropping wedding florals since 2011, and we’re the only Pittsburgh florist offering 100% American-grown flowers. For weddings between May and October, your florals can even be primarily sourced from local farms, celebrating field-to-vase designs that support women-led farms and reduce environmental impact.

Here’s what you can expect—and how to prepare for our conversation!

How to Prepare for Your Consultation

Our consultations are designed to be as fun and stress-free as they are productive. Think of it as your pre-game pep talk (minus the glitter and questionable dance moves).

Step 1: Get Cozy (with Pittsburgh's Sustainable Wedding Florist)

Grab your favorite beverage, a pen and a notebook (bonus points for recycled paper, babe!), and settle into a comfy spot. Whether you’re chatting solo, with your partner, or including your wedding planner, this is your time to dream big about your wedding flowers.

Step 2: Know Thyself (and Thy Budget)

Take a moment to reflect on your style. Are you an old-school romantic, saving every TikTok video you see where billowing white tents are hung floor to ceiling in wispy vines or a boho, free spirit with lots of collage-style Canva messes full of bright wildflowers and playful, bold patterned china? What celebrity wedding has you swooning (for me it's Beanie & Bonnie's 2023 Upstate NY celebration), or is that not your scene at all? Do you have a color palette in mind, or are you open to suggestions?

Speaking of planning, transparency about your budget is key. Knowing your financial boundaries helps us tailor options that are as stunning as they are realistic. We’re pros at finding solutions that fit your needs without compromising on style. There's definitely a myth that

Step 3: Dig Deeper (Than Pinterest)

Inspiration is everywhere, but let’s go beyond the usual, ok? Instead of sending us a generic style board from your Google search for “dreamy florals,” think about what speaks to you. Maybe it’s the purple flower from a favorite hiking trail (Don't know their name? Send us a photo!) or the b tones of your grandma’s garden in early spring. Nothing sparking joy on the internet? Try just taking a photo of what's hanging in your closet, or the part of your home that you're the comfiest in. Over the years I've had clients tell me that they're delighted by some truly wild things - from a Disney princess to a velvet couch at Anthro Home to some groovy vintage ceramics from Zenith (shoutout to my favorite vegan brunch in the Burgh #zenith4ever). And after you've both taken the question of personal style to task...think a bit about your aesthetics as a couple. What was the last visual choice you made together? The outfits you wore for your engagement photos or the tent you picked out together at REI last summer? The more personal preferences we hear about, the more we can design a wedding floral design that truly reflects you two and your love story.

Step 4: Ask the Right Questions (We Have Answers!)

This is your chance to pick our brains! Here are a few questions to kick things off:

  • What local, seasonal flowers will be available on my wedding day?

  • How can we incorporate sustainability into my floral designs?

  • Which rentals, like vases or arches, would best suit my venue?

  • What happens if my plans change?

Pro tip: Don’t be afraid to get personal! We'd love to hear about your favorite flower memories or the earliest memory you have of noticing flowers, and, if not either of those, I'd love to hear your go-to brunch spot (hint: we have a special treat for brunch lovers at the end of this blog post!).

A Preview of Your Consultation

We offer 60-minute calls (phone or video—your choice!) to dive into your wedding vision. The goal? We want to ensure we understand your story, style, and venue while showing how Bramble & Blossom can make your big day truly unforgettable.

Introductions: Ring Ring, Florist Calling!

We’ll start by getting to know you. How did you meet? What’s your engagement story? What's your go-to rerun tv? This isn’t just small talk - though I do love a good kibbitz - it’s the foundation of a design that'll feel authentically you.

Your Wedding Vision

This is your time to dream. Feel free to play and use your imagination. We'll use a style board so that we can share visual language and we’ll ask open-ended questions like:

  • What does your wedding day look like in your mind?

  • Where do you want flowers to make the most impact?

  • What’s your favorite feature of your venue? Why did you choose that space for your ceremony or reception? (We’ve designed all around town and are a preferred florist at Phipps Conservatory, the National Aviary, Heinz History Center, and Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens, so we know how to make these spaces shine!)

Introducing Bramble & Blossom

Here’s where we share what makes us different:

  • We’ve been crafting wedding florals since 2011, blending expertise with a commitment to sustainability. That's a couple hundred weddings, and yes I would gladly sample your aunt's famous thumbprint cookies.

  • We're change-makers and Jessica is a joyful member of the Slow Flowers movement. In fact, Bramble & Blossom was featured in a recent New York Times article about locally grown wedding flowers. Zero imported flowers in our designs, we keep it as local as we can, but always domestically-grown to lower our carbon footprint.

  • Our designs are foam-free, waste-conscious, and deeply rooted in our relationships with regional growers.

Our consultation calls are an open, collaborative conversation about how we can elevate your wedding day while staying true to your values.

Designing for Your Day

We’ll explore your color palette, discuss seasonal flowers, and look at style boards. Together, we’ll refine a style that feels cohesive and memorable.

Next Steps

After the call, we’ll update your style board and prepare a detailed proposal with every floral element broken down. You’ll have it in your inbox within three days, so you can move forward with confidence.
